Moogoo: Not just for tricky skin

I’m lucky enough to be the owner of fairly normal, generally happy skin (touch wood), so when I first heard about MooGoo, I put them in the ‘tricky skin’ basket – products that sounded fantastic for treating conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, but as I hadn’t suffered either myself, I didn’t really have a use for.  However after hearing a rave review about MooGoo from a friend, and finding their product list actually included all sorts of things that might be up my alley, I was excited to give them a try.

Moogoo is an Aussie skincare brand that first caught our attention with their effective skin healing cream, which was adapted from a product used to heal cows’ udders and keep them in good condition for milking.  Word of mouth kicked in about how effective the cream was on hard-to-treat skin conditions, and MooGoo’s cult following took off from there.

The first product I tried was the Oil Cleanser for Combo Skin.  I had just finished a cleansing balm that I ADORED, so this cleanser had big shoes to fill.  And you know, for a product which costs about a quarter of the price of the previous product I was using, Moogoo’s oil cleanser is really a little beauty.

It has a thick consistency, which can make it a little difficult to maneuver around your face, but take the opportunity to give yourself a good facial massage while you work it in.  I apply with dry hands onto dry skin, wet a face cloth with warm water, and hold it over my face for about 15 seconds before wiping the oil away.  Result is glowing, clean and happy-looking skin.  This method fantastic for makeup removal as well.

After the success with the cleanser, I was in the market for a new body moisturiser so I picked up the Skin Milk Udder Cream.  The first thing that struck me about this product was the scent – DELICIOUS.  Vanilla-y and milk-y in the best possible way.

However what I found with this moisturiser is, while it feels hydrating on and absorbs quickly, it was actually much more suited to my face rather than my body, which (ta-da!) is how I found my new holy grail facial moisturiser.  My face feels hydrated and supple all day, the cream leaves a matte finish which is perfect for makeup application, and did I mention the smell?  Amazing.

So count me as MooGoo’s latest convert.  Next on my list will be the ‘creamier’ version of the Skin Milk cream, the Full Cream moisturiser, and if I hear correctly, there will soon be MooGoo makeup!
