Hey everyone! I bought this tent last week, and I’ve had a lot of use out of it already so I thought I’d give you all a quick review of my experience and opinion of it so far.
So as you may have guessed, I didn’t buy it for me – I bought it for my kids to play in. I remember as a kid, I had a blow-up Wendy house that I absolutely adored, so seeing this tepee reminded me of the fun I used to have! Granted, I have been nagged for an iPad and the like, but I’m a little old-fashioned so I’d rather their childhood revolve a little more around imagination than technology. They’ll thank me when they’re older…hopefully.
I have ordered a few random products from here before, so I’m already familiar with the products being quite high-quality. I wanted to get them something that they could play around with but would also be a little more durable than a blow-up house! On a whim, I actually purchased two tents – one in white and one in blue. Partially to avoid my kids squabbling over whose turn it is to use the darn thing. Free shipping was offered which I was happy with, and the tents arrived in no time. They were super easy to assemble, even for a novice like me!
The fabric on the tents feels strong and durable, so I have no doubt in my mind that it’s made with high-quality material. This eased my worries of the kids tearing through the fabric when they get a little rowdy. I placed both tents in the living room and brought the kids in to have a play with them. To my surprise, they took to the tepees really quickly and instead of causing a ruckus with them, turned them into cute little napping-nests! It was quite amusing watching them traipse around the house with blankets and pillows. I think the novelty of sleeping in something other than a bed really appealed to the kids, and when I asked them what they were doing, they told they were ‘camping!’
I bought my daughter a rabbit night light from here, just recently. She brought that into the tent and placed it in the corner with her fleece blanket and sofa cushions. It looked super adorable, and the best part is, the tepees seem to be having a super calming effect on the kids. I can’t say that it would work for every child, but to my fellow parents: if you’re looking for a way to get your kids to settle down or get more rest, you should give these a try. A child’s imagination is a wonderous thing and seeing them ‘camp’ in their tepees definitely brings back fond memories of my own childhood. After this, it has made me all the more determined to keep them away from technology for as long as I can and give them a proper childhood! Parents, I would absolutely recommend.
